Tips
on Ironing a Tie
Sometimes
it is necessary to iron a tie. For example, there are times when you
need to remove wrinkles on a tie. Here are some tips that may help
you:
Before
you iron a tie, remember to cover a clean cotton cloth on the tie
for protection.
The
iron should be kept at a lower temperature.
In
general, if the tie is made of silk or polyester, the temperature of
the iron should not be higher than 140°C. If the tie is made
of wool, the temperature should not be higher than 170°C.
Avoid
ironing a tie if possible, since ironing may hurt the tie's fabric
(especially when the temperature of the iron is high) and may make
the tie look too flat.

and Remove Wrinkles on a Tie" article to learn some of the
tricks for removing wrinkles without ironing. Consider ironing your
tie only if those tricks do not help.
